Jural learns the matter from your conversation. No intake forms.
Security

Private by architecture. Protected at every layer.

What travels between your iPhone, your Mac and your team is end-to-end encrypted with the Signal protocol. Everything else is encrypted, isolated to your firm and hosted on Microsoft Azure in the US.

Our approach

The industry standard

Legal software typically keeps every matter, every message and every file on the vendor’s servers, protected by policy: access controls, audits, and a commitment not to look. Client confidentiality depends on that commitment holding everywhere.

The Jural architecture

Jural narrows what that commitment has to cover. Device sync, case chat and attachments are end-to-end encrypted, so our relay carries only ciphertext. Case and client records are encrypted in transit and at rest, isolated to your firm and gated by role. And we say plainly which is which.

In practice

What the relay sees.

The same case message, as it exists on your iPhone and as it passes through Jural’s sync relay. It is encrypted before it leaves your device, and the relay deletes it once delivered. Case and client records kept on our servers are encrypted in transit and at rest, and isolated to your firm.

Your data in motion.

Edits leave one device already encrypted and arrive at the other still encrypted. The relay in the middle forwards what it cannot open, then lets it go.

Layer by layer

Security at every layer.

One principle runs through the whole product: everything is encrypted, end-to-end wherever the work allows, and we say plainly which is which.

Client documents

Read and indexed on the device: text extraction, OCR and the search index all stay local. Attachments shared between devices are sealed on the device with AES-256-GCM, and stored files are encrypted in transit and at rest.

Case knowledge & AI

Luna, Jural’s assistant, runs in the cloud on OpenAI. She receives the extracted text and case context a request needs, not your raw files, sent with storage turned off and never used to train models.

Collaboration chat

Case chat with your team is end-to-end encrypted with the Signal protocol. The relay forwards ciphertext it cannot read, and deletes each message once it is delivered.

Device-to-device sync

Your iPhone and Mac keep each other current with Signal-protocol end-to-end encryption. The relay between them holds only public keys and ciphertext: it forwards what it cannot read.

App access

On iPhone, Jural locks behind Face ID and a PIN, and locks again the moment it leaves the screen. Your firm can see every linked device and revoke any one of them.

Sign-in & firm isolation

Sign in through Auth0 with multi-factor authentication required. Short-lived tokens, firm membership and role are checked on every request, so each firm sees only its own work.

Frequently asked questions

Can Jural employees read my cases?

Not what travels between your devices. Device sync, case chat and shared attachments are end-to-end encrypted with the Signal protocol, and our relay holds only ciphertext it has no keys for.

Case and client records, stored documents, intake and e-signature files live on Jural’s servers in Microsoft Azure in the US. They are encrypted in transit and at rest, isolated to your firm, and not end-to-end encrypted. Production access is limited to authorized personnel with multi-factor authentication, and no support tool gives our staff access to customer data.

Is my client data used to train AI models?

No. Jural does not train models on customer data. Luna runs on OpenAI’s API with storage turned off, and OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.

What does Luna actually see?

What the request needs: your message, the relevant case facts and memory, and, for a summary, up to about 24,000 characters of text extracted from the document on your device. Luna works from that text, not your files.

During client intake she also sees the client’s answers; files the client uploads stay on Jural’s servers and are not sent to her. Requests are sent with storage turned off. Under OpenAI’s standard API terms they may be held for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, and are never used for training.

What happens to my data if I leave?

Your data belongs to your firm. Documents can be downloaded from the case, and when a firm cancels, its data is deleted from Jural’s servers within 30 days, with backups ageing out on a seven-day cycle.

What if I lose my phone?

On iPhone, Jural is locked behind Face ID and a PIN, and locks again whenever it leaves the screen. Your firm can see every linked device and revoke the lost one, and your cases carry on from your other devices.
